I didn't chart after my loss, but did use OPKs just to get an idea of what my body was doing. We aren't trying again for another cycle.

I found it really helpful to chart the cycle of my miscarriage - I started temping again when I got my first negative pregnancy test after the d&c, and I ovulated 17 days after that. It was really reassuring for me to have that knowledge that my body was still "working" and to know when to expect AF. Going forward, I just excluded that cycle from my stats so it wouldn't screw up FF's calculations.

That's great your betas are down. I started temping again as soon as I had stopped bleeding from the loss. It was a little wacky but I wanted to know if I was ovulating again and when to expect AF again. You may have ovulated already, I think it's possible to O before your betas reach zero, but I don't think it hurts to start temping again now if you don't mind doing it.

@DesertDreams88: thanks That really was helpful I think I'll start Monday. I'm hoping it comes on soon because with my mc in 2013 af came back 6 weeks later. Time will tell hopefully my temps clue me in

Congrats on getting back under 5!! Short version: Do what you WANT to do, BUT, I haven't temped for 3 out of my 7 cycles, and I'm annoyed with myself for not doing so. It limits what I know about my body. I wish I could go back in time and have that "data."

Long version:
- I didn't temp regularly in May because I didn't understand the purpose after O (it can confirm O, it can point to low progesterone, it can give an indication as to :bfn: or :bfp:)

- I didn't temp in July due to travel. It was a bit of a longer cycle so I got my hopes up..... and no. I probably O-ed late.

- When I lost my pregnancy in late Oct, I read a couple of times that your temps in between loss & first AF can be wonky, so I didn't.... and I regret it. It took me a long time to get my period back and I was really frustrated not knowing what was going on with my body. Finally when I started temping, it helped me relax because I knew I had ovulated sometime, due to the high temps, and that AF was coming.

- Losses can really impact your cycle and temping could help you know if there is something that needs to be addressed with your doctor, like low post-O temps, late or delayed ovulation, short LPs, etc. Better to get that "discovered" sooner rather than later, in my opinion.

Now that I have the VIP membership for FF, I LOVE using the "Chart Overlay" feature, which becomes more helpful with the more info you have. You can "pin" the cycles at ovulation, at the ovulation and coverline, at the end of the cycle, etc. It helps you compare cycles and see what your "average" is. I'll attach an example.

As most of you ladies know I had and ectopic pregnancy last month and have been getting my betas checked every week and this week they are finally under 5. Of course we can't start trying again until April or May depending on how my cycles fall, but I'm wondering when should I start temping again. Should I start now so ff can get use to my cycles again or wait until I have my first af which hopefully will be soon?

Thanks in advance ladies
