Our daycare only offers 1 nap starting at 11 months and have basically already had her on that pattern do a couple months now. At home she still takes 2 but they are 60-80 mins. If she wasn't in daycare I would t mess with it, but we're trying to work toward it now for consistency. She sleeps 12 hrs at night.

I"m not sure, but I'm pretty sure it was close to a year. Probably when she started daycare. But at 2.5 we dropped the second nap.

20 months. Hurray for getting through my first trimester exhaustion with that glorious double nap schedule still intact.

We're transition now at almost 15 months but only because he was refusing his second nap - which was making him crazy over tired so he couldn't fall asleep at night.

It seems like there is a huge range of when babies transition. if your LO seems totally fine on to naps, why rock the boat? Fwiw, we transitioned at 14 months because, like many others, my LO started fighting the second nap big time. I would've held onto two naps, though, if he wasn't fighting it so much.

17 months over here and we've adjusted his schedule a little, but he's still on 2 naps.

I read a lot about this topic and everything I read said to hang on to 2 naps as long as you can, and not to react with "he must be transitioning to 1 nap" because he has a couple of bad nap days. It COULD be that they're ready for 1 nap...but It could just be a regression....which happened to us around 15 months. I was sure he was ready for 1 nap (and so bummed) but I decided to try and remain consistent and just as quickly as he started resisting naps he went back to two 1.5-2 hour naps a day. At this time I wake him up at 45 mins for the first nap then he takes a 2-3 hour 2nd nap. It works extremely well for us. I do think that we will be ready for 1 nap soon because his 2nd nap is awesome since we started cutting the 1st nap short. But there's no way he could to 7-12 without at least some quiet time in his crib. So I'm trying to figure out how to do that eventually.
Bottom line, even at 15 months, if you are happy with 2 naps and baby is happy with 2 naps, there's no reason to force a transition.

Here is the most helpful thing I found:

We started the transition around 11 months because he started fighting the PM nap. So we were gradually pushing and shortening the morning nap. It was SOOO annoying. This went on for like 3 months. We made the switch at 14 months and it took a few weeks for him to adjust to a new lunch time and for his body to stop pooping mid-nap, but by 15 months we were in a good groove. He usually naps about 2 hours at daycare now, but still naps 2.5-3 hours at home.

We followed daycare, @15/16 months we transitioned to 1 nap. He was still happy taking 2 naps and would regularly fall asleep in the car on our morning outing.

We started transitioning around 16 months and he was on 1 nap solidly by 17 months. The biggest clue that he was ready was that our usually-early riser started sleeping in!

18 months later and we are still on 2 naps. I assume by college we will probably be down to 1. He just can't make it on 1 nap - he's a disaster. We do have to limit his morning nap to 1 hour.

When did you switch to one nap? I don't see it happening anytime soon, she LOVES sleep right now. She still doing 2 2-2 1/2 hour naps plus sleeping 12 hours at night at 11 months. I'm guessing around 15 months if its still going on we will start to transition her? When did you do it?
