We did ours at 38 weeks. We knew we were cutting it close but as our hospital is a mothers hospital and only delivers babies, it wasn't too difficult to navigate. In the end, we're glad we took the tour as it was nice to see the rooms, but it wouldn't have been a big deal had our LO arrived early before we could do the tour.

We have ours next week - I'll be 29 weeks pregnant. We're already pre-registered at the hospital and finished the last of our child birth and child care classes this week.

I am just waiting until I go to the hospital to register...and I can't register until 36 weeks (1st week in August). That way I can kill two birds with one stone.

We toured both hospitals that we could choose from right around 28 weeks.

It was kind of a freak out moment, because one of the hospitals could take preemies at 28 weeks, so knowing that he could be born at that hospital anytime was a small wake up call that I needed to get some things ready.

We'll do ours relatively early, maybe around 25-28 weeks. Our hospital schedules them once a week.

I did mine at 19 weeks. Probably earlier than most but there are 3 local hospitals and I wanted to make sure that I had made the right decision. Most doctors are only usually affiliated with one hospital.

I am glad I went early. I feel a lot more comfortable now that I've visited.

I did it between 32-36weeks with my first. I'm considering taking the tour this time around 36 weeks. Even though I will be delivering at the same hospital there is a chance LO may be breech which would require a c-section and create questions I may not currently have; we won't know for sure until the 36w ultrasound. Plus they are doing construction in the Labor & Delivery ward and I want to know how that will impact my delivery. I also want to know about restrictions on DD visiting us but hospital policy changes based upon how bad flu season is around here so I want to wait until closer to delivery.

There were people on my first tour who were still in their first trimester but there are about 10 hospitals in our area so I think they were trying to decide where to go (my OB delivers at 3 different ones but I choose the closest to my house; although the other two were very close to my office).

I took it earlier then most, but I was glad. It's a lot of walking and standing and it sucked, but probably sucked a lot mroe for those who were a lot more pregnant than I was.

We did our tour last week, when I was 21 weeks. I couldn't wait around any longer! I had never stepped foot in the facilities and wanted to make sure we had made a good decision. I was probably the earliest pregnant person there, but oh well. We'll do classes a bit later when I'm in the 30s as far as weeks go.

I am almost 29 weeks and wondering when DH and I should take a tour of our hospital birth center? The hospital my OBGYN practices at is 25 minutes away but we live about 5 minutes from another hospital with a labor and delivery unit. We plan to use the close hospital as a back up in case I accidentally labor to long at home? I really highly doubt that will happen but DH is very concerned. So when did you take your birth center tour? I would idealy like to get it out of the way before 36 weeks. Would now be to early?
