This just happened to us and it was super weird. She went from never missing a day to 5 days with no poop. Our pediatrician said that as long as she wasn't feeling bad, to call if she hadn't pooped after a week.

She's 5.5 months old and you should have seen her after she did poop. She was VERY pleased with herself.

My nephew is 16 weeks, EBF, and goes every 5-6 days. My sister said he used to go more frequently, but the ped was not at all concerned.

When B was EBF she went up to 12 days with no bowel movement. No one was ever concerned about it. She would go through phases where she would go often, then she wouldn't go for a week. It's very concerning as a parent though! Like PP said, as long as they are eating, having wet diapers and their stomach isn't distended, they should be ok :)

Our record was 13 days. Lo wasn't uncomfortable so our led wasn't concerned. She eventually pooped and it was totally normal. Their bodies are just very efficient with the breastmilk. She settled into a 1x/week pattern.

7-10 days is normal, as long as their stomach isn't distended and they seem to be eating and wetting okay. Usually when I start to get concerned that's when the blow out happens!

Thanks! I really hope this doesn't last 10 days. I knew it was okay to go for a while, just wasn't sure what it meant when a champion pooper suddenly stopped. I think I'll call the doctor on Friday if he still hasn't gone.

I heard it was normal to go up to 10 days without pooping! Xander used to poop all the time in the beginning and then slowly he started only pooping once a week (or less)!

I know it's normal for exclusively breastfed babies to go a few days without pooping. However, DS is 17 weeks old and has pooped 2 or more times every single day of his life. Then the past two days, nothing. He is eating like normal, we just had a check up yesterday (before he'd gone a full 24 hours so I didn't even mention it) and he was fine. He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, I'm just a bit concerned because it is so unusual for him personally.

Am I just being crazy? Anyone else's LO have a similar pattern?
