My toddler wasn't napping by the time the baby came along, but we have her stay in her room for quiet time up to 1.5 hours. We started with a very short quiet time and worked up to that amount.

We haven't transitioned DS (2.5 years) to his big boy bed yet in part because I am afraid he will get out of bed 100x's +. What's more, I have a 4 month old who takes a while to fall asleep for his nap during the day and the thought of juggling putting the little one down while the older one is able to come out of his room scares me.

Moms with two (toddler and baby), how did you keep your toddler in their big bed for naps? I am contemplating a lock but don't want to scare DS.

A gate with the door open won't work because DS will just scream and wake everyone up.
