We have a toy that makes a sound like creepy children laughing -- DH constantly talks about how it is actually a prop from a horror movie. I can't imagine how freaked out he'd be if it went on in the middle of the night...now I'm thinking about April Fools day!

Haha DD has one of those potties that plays music when you pee in it. I think the batteries are dying because last week it started going off in the MOTN. I woke up half out of it and panicked, telling Dh to go look because I thought a burglar was in the house. Dh was like "and this burglar decided to use the potty?!" . Lol

@nana87: Same! We keep ours in the basement and occasionally I will hear the monkey shrieking at random. Definitely creepy.

I just sit there heart racing and hope lo doesn't wake up! Hasn't happened with baby2 yet but we live in a place where everything is off the living room now so I could wind up with both waking up no matter where the toy is... We don't have too many noise making toys for lo1 now but I'm sure there will be another round as lo2 gets bigger.

Yesterday morning we were all in the living room watching cartoons, when DH heard something upstairs. He went up to check if the cat was messing around (he was not) and found L's sound machine on and two little bobble head figures bobbing around like crazy. WTF.

Yup! There used to be a singing/learning turtle in our bedroom that DH sometimes accidentally stepped on and it'd go off. It goes on for a few minutes too and is super annoying. Fortunately, it didn't wake DS up, but if he's just drifting and hears it, you bet he pops up and goes "tuttle???"

We make sure all toys are up against the wall or out of walking path at night.

This has happened twice in the past week but fortunately neither woke up DS. One is a Fisher Price remote and I pushed it on accident. It's super loud and began singing, "IVE GOT A REMOTE AND IM READY TO ROLL..." (All caps for emphasis :silly: ). The other is a Playskool giraffe. When it's still turned on it will randomly laugh when it's not being played with. I can't figure out the timing on that because it does it so randomly! Creepy.

Our Sesame Street kitchen occasionally starts going off on to own, more annoying than creepy!

And C's Daniel Tiger sometimes goes off when she rolls over on it. Luckily it doesn't seem to wake her, but she will be sound asleep, Dh and I watching tv, and suddenly we hear "my name is Daniel.., Tiger..." Creep.

We have this one Melissa and Doug sound puzzle that will go off on it's own if the pieces aren't in it! We were keeping it outside on our balcony for awhile and it would still go off...

@sorrycharlie: We finally had to get rid of all the toys that made noises! We had a little doggie toy was low on batteries and each bark sounded like a zombie... good times when the zombie dog started moaning in the middle of the night!!

gaaaaah. last week, my youngest was FINALLY asleep (we're talking almost 2 hours of wide awake insanity between midnight and 3 am). I was walking in circles to make sure and tripped over her octopus toy, and it yelled "TAP A SHOE!!!!" and woke her up. I almost kicked it across the room.

last night DH and I were watching tv, and all of a sudden the Fisher Price giant house toy started going off - and no one was near it. The "creeeeak - slam!" sound effect. not creepy at all...

I've started shutting every toy off at night out of paranoia!

anyone else deal with this? I can't be the only one :P
