Twin.

But we don't really do overnight guests, so there will never be more than one person sleeping in it. And I don't see any reason they need more space than that, even through the teen years - I guess this is a case of it was fine for me, so it will be fine for them.

If you have the space I agree with just getting the queen and having them both in that. One mattress place we looked at actually said the queen mattresses were cheaper just because they had so much more supply and demand for them.

But remember that a queen is longer than a full. We have our old queen bed in C's room, next to her crib, and I wish it was a full because we could use those extra inches both length and width.

If you want them to have the same size bed, then I'd get a queen, that way there is more flexibility to use the kids rooms as a guest room. I understand 2 people fit in a full bed, but IMO, 2 people do not fit comfortably in a full sized bed (especially if they are used to sleeping in a queen or king).

I grew up in a full bed with my older and younger brothers each in a twin bed. They also shared a room, so there wasn't much of an option other than twin beds in there! Nothing else would fit!

We went with a cheap twin, but I voted a full if you have the room (we did not.) However when we move LO and her sister (I'm guessing she will be ready for it by the time we move) will both get full beds. LO2 will take the twin if it happens before then and we will upgrade LO1 to a full and just rearrange her room/furniture to make it work.

Our crib converts to a Full, so I would do the conversion for LMW and buy another full for Wagon Jr. I think they would last longer/be more comfortable as they get older.

i think if you have the room for it, go for two queens, since you already have one :) your kids are so so adorable!

we'll probably have 2 twins, as they will be sharing a room and I think twin beds look cute together in the same room. but they are already super tall for their age, so I hope the don't out grow them early.

Our cribs convert to full-sized beds, but if I was buying beds for my kids, I'd go with twin. I grew up with a twin and I don't think kid/teen needs anything bigger than that.

Since twin beds would be cheaper, I'd go with that. But I grew up with a full sized bed, too.

I think it may depend on how much you would have to invest in the furniture and mattress set. We actually did a Queen bc we had a really nice pillow top Q mattress set that we could use for it, as opposed to buying a full. If you look at measurements, there is only 6 inches of width difference between a full and a queen. And LO's furniture was such an investment that I didn't want to repurchase more furniture for her later on, and it would have sucked to spend another $500 or so on top of her already crazy $$$ furniture for a full mattress.. So she has been a rock star in a queen, her furniture is gorgeous, and it will last her as long as she's at home with us:) That made me feel like we did okay when I divided the total cost of her set by 15 years:)

I feel like I tried everything, lol.

We tried to put our son in a twin, but he likes to sleep horizontally and the one that we had was too high off the ground for the mattresses we had.

I ended up buying him a full, and eventually, I'll have a trundle box made for a twin sized mattress to roll away below it.

Our cribs converted to full so that decision was made but I will add its great when we have lots of company - you can fit 2 adults in a full size bed, not in a twin!

Here's the scoop:

We have a king sized bed. We have a queen sized bed in our guest room and another queen in Wagon Jr.'s room (our old bed), and a crib turned toddler bed in LMW's room.

I want to transition both kids to beds appropriate for their size (upgrade LMW and downgrade Wagon Jr.!). I know I want to get them the same size bed so I can buy gender neutral sheets and use for both.

I always pictured my kids in twin sized beds but now I'm doubting myself. I grew up with a full sized bed that my parents also used as their guest room.

Should I get them twins or fulls?
