They dont bother me. I grew up on a lake and would dig for my own worms to fish with. I feed meal worms which are kind of different than the kind we are talking about to my Chickens and my bearded dragon so I touch those daily. I really remember feeling scared but my parents thought they were teaching me to get over this fear by making me walk through it. To this day, I'm terrified of worms and things like that. Even as an adult, when I have to go to my car in the rain and there are worms on the ground, I can't breathe and I cry until I'm safely in my car. Charlie freaked out! As he put it, "It's a SNAKE!!!!" We explained to him that it was a worm and not a snake, and that worms were "good." All he had to say was, "Worms are scawy." And that was that. This evening, I found a few dozen worms and put them into the planters where we are growing some vegetables. I haven't touched so many worms since I used to go fishing as a kid! I've been fishing a few times in my adult life, but usually we just buy our worms. Afterward, we came inside and got Charlie a book about worms, so that he can learn more about them. Hopefully it will get him into gardening even more! When was the last time you touched a worm?
