If we were planning a trip in the near future I would buy him his own seat on the plane and bring a cheap car seat. We flew when she was like, 22 months and didn't pay for the extra seat. Luckily there ended up being an open one next to us because she definitely needed it. She was still all over the place, but it was a much better situation. I remember it was constantly squirming from 12-18 months. It got better when we hit closer to the 24 month mark. My DD is 25 months and will sit through our entire dinner if we give her some fruit or snacks after she eats her main meal. Not sure if she ever will! LO is 12 months and she cannot stay still for a second, which is perfectly normal, I'm sure! I'm booking flights for next year, when she will be 23 months, and I'm wondering whether to get her her own seat, or whether it will be just as tough to keep her in that seat as if we were holding her?!
