LO is nearly 13 months and has just this week dropped to one feed on waking and another just before bed. (Hallelujah!) I have found, in general, that he has generally dropped a feeding about a week after I start to feel a bit desperate abdominal beat down and thinking he never will! :)

DD is 7 months and nurses 6 times a day: when she wakes up, after 3 different naps, before bed, and usually one night. She's slept through the night a few times and on those days it's been 5 times a day.

@ChelseaRose: It's a good schedule, isn't it? We're also not quite that precise - he is often off by 15 or 30 minutes too, depending on how long his naps go. I've been pleased that it's possible to put an EBF baby on a schedule!

@Beehive: Although we don't really have a schedule, my little one nurses (or has a bottle while I'm at work) at roughly those times +/- 30 minutes.

LO is EBF and we have him on a schedule so he eats 5x a day: 7am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and bedtime feed at 7:30pm (no feeds overnight). He's 5 months old and started on this schedule I think around 3.5 months.

DS was still nursing 4 times during the day and countless times at night (2-4+++) at 21 months. :/ He was boob obsessed and loved his milk, plus his solids eating wasn't great so he needed all the milk calories.

Right now, we are down to 5 bottle/breastfeeding sessions/day at nearly 8 months. We have been doing this for maybe a month? Once he started regularly eating purées (which i introduced at 6 mo) he cut back from 6/day. Before that he was doing 6/day for quite a while not sure exactly...

We bottle fed, but I never dropped any daytime feedings. I basically fed every 3 hours during the day, and then I dropped nighttime feedings, as she stopped waking up for them. Around 3.5 months she dropped down to 6 feedings per day (5 during the day, plus a dream feed before I went to bed.) Then a little after 4 months we dropped the dream feed. Ever since then she's been on 5 bottles per day up until today when we full-on dropped bottles, now that DD will be turning one on Monday.

C has been no more than 5x a day since 3.5 months. I struggle to get 4 in on a good day, she is just over 5 months now. She totally adapted to this on her own, I probably drove her crazy for a while trying to feed her more, but should wouldn't have any of it (when I was EBF, now FF, she refuses both when she doesn't want!)

ugh..she eats nonstop. every 2.5 hours, roughly during the day - and is up every 2-3 hours at night. She's 6 months and I guess she missed the memo that she's not a newborn anymore!

I would say around 8/9 months. At 11.5 months I nurse her 3x a day (morning, bedtime, 1 wake up at night) and she has 3 bottles a day, this is down from 9 feedings a day.

We always used EASY so he was nursed on WU, after each nap (3 naps after 4 months), before bed and one nightfeed...so 6 in total. We didn't drop a feed until he dropped his nightfeed at 5.5 months (so 5 feedings total) and went to 2 naps (4 feeds). From 10 months on he would occasionally only nurse 3 times a day.

Once my LO started sleeping through the night consistently (it was around 4 months for us), we were down to 6 feedings per day. Now that he sleeps 11 hours a night, he naturally "dropped" a feeding, so now at 7 months, we are at 5 bottles per day. Around 8/9 months, I plan to drop his bottles down to 4.

LO is 4 months old and still eating 6-8x a day. I know we still have awhile to go before this changes. When were you able to start cutting down on the number of feedings each day?

I feel like once we can cut back to like 2-3 feeds a day I will be a lot more likely to continue long term.
