@MamaBehr: DD stopped napping at 15 months so I wouldn't have been able to nap, even if I was a SAHM either! Well, unless you put on the TV for a bit, as you said. I would probably do it every day in the 1st trimester! :)

@MamaBehr: We do.....mostly....but my husband works some weekends and gets up at 5 anyways when he works. This weekend, my husband was off and DS slept til 6:30 on Saturday so we both got up. On Sunday, DS slept til 5:30 and my husband got up with him. But I could hear everything and couldn't fall back asleep despite being exhausted.

@andrea when I was pregnant with my second, during the first trimester, DD was only 17 months old. There is at least ONE day where I purposely put on Sesame Street because I wasn't going to be awake much longer, only to wake up to her half way up the stairs.... luckily I wasn't working (hurray for teacher's schedules!)

@winniebee do you and DH take turns getting up early with him on the weekends? That helped me a lot, so I got to sleep in on Saturdays and DH got Sundays. So at least ONE day a week you aren't up way before the sun.....

Being pregnant in the 1st trimester, working full time, taking care of a toddler = was dying.

@MamaBehr: OH yeah, I drink coffee all day. I *just* wish he would sleep a little later than 5/5:30. Getting up once a night (ehem, 2x last night...) is ok, but I just can't ever get enough sleep with such an early riser. A few days a week, he'll sleep til 6:30 and it's amazing.

When she was a newborn. But like you said, it's all tiring! Now that she's a toddler she is always on the go! Sure, LO sleeps 12 hours a night and it's amazing...... but when she's awake she doesn't let me sit down for a second. She's not completely walking on her own yet so she likes to hold my hand when she walks, but she always wants to be walking so I'm constantly (no joke CONSTANTLY!) walking around the house with her. And if she's not walking, she's climbing on things so I have to be right there with her to make sure she doesn't fall on her head. I don't sit for a second! Exhausting!

Right where you are.... DD was a horrible sleeper and would get up a whole bunch during the night but then I had to go to work in the morning. I remember walking into work, on a pretty regular basis, with at least one large coffee from Dunkin' Donuts and an iced large coffee (for later in the day) because I was THAT tired.

I swear, now that my LO is 6 months old, I'm more tired than I was in the newborn phase. Even though he now only wakes once a night (usually), he goes to bed at 7 and is often up at 5. I used to benefit from his longest sleep stretch when he went to bed later. Like when he was 12 weeks and went to bed at 9 but slept 6 hours then 4+ more. Glorious! Oh, and now I'm working which means no naps during the day and generally no down time.
