My parents never left my brother until he was two and a half. They went away for a long weekend and left my brother with my aunt. Well... my brother just wandered my aunt's house the WHOLE time going "Where mommy go? Where mommy go?". He was obviously was just fine but it was a rough weekend for everyone involved. My parents learned from their mistake and left me for an overnight the first time when I was like 2 months old. I'd trust my mom with my life and my son's and I think I would do it as soon as he was 1ish.
