I agree with asking for grandparent help if they are nearby or cueing up a movie (or two) that will last from after school to bedtime and order some dinner. Hopefully you'll be able to stay on the couch all night!

Get well soon!

I am so sorry! My very pregnant friend just had a fever and then vomitting/diarrhea nonstop too :(

If both of us are out we call in the grandparents for sure!

I'm sorry you feel so sick! Honestly, when both of us are ill, I still end up doing the vast majority of care for the kids. Once we live near family again I will call them and beg for help in a situation like that.

Thank you, all! Funny stories help @mediagirl and I feel much better about begging for help now. I hate to take advantage at all, but oh my goodness I need help! We'll see if they prefer to come here and put LO down for bed or just take him to their house.

@AggieDaze: If my parents were in town I would not hesitate to call them to watch LO if hubs and I were both puking. Especially while pregnant!!! We have had friends help out when we've been really sick. If that's not an option, there is just a lot of TV.

@AggieDaze: YES. THIS is the time to ask for help! Call them, text them, whatever them immediately and beg! You're both sick. If it was just one person, I'd say suck it up. Both of you? Get help. Grandma/pa, can do bedtime stuff and feed your lo for you and you can stay in bed.

@mediagirl: So my parents are nearby and love to hang with LO1. Would you ask for help if you have the option? Or is this one of those times that I should just suck it up - I am the parent after all.

And if you want a somewhat funny story - we both got food poisoning when our lo was 5 months old. I was breastfeeding and of course, had to keep feeding her. I was sitting in her room feeding her, felt sick, ran into our room, dropped her on a pillow on the floor and then proceeded to throw up across the room. Couldn't even make it to the bathroom. My husband was in bed and watched it all in slow motion. He was able to mumble - "we'll figure it out later..." Parenting is soooo glamorous.

You suffer through. I'm so sorry you are sick. We have been there and we just tell lo that we are really sick. We turn on the TV and give her something easy for dinner that won't turn our stomachs too much (a can of soup is easy).

I hope you are both better tomorrow!!!

So, I'm 36 weeks 4 days pregnant and both me and my DH spent all of last night vomiting and with diarrhea. Luckily LO1 (2.5) felt fine this morning and my DH sucked it up and took him to school. We've spent most of the day slipping in and out of sleep... And trying to drink liquids (my doctor said the main risk is me becoming dehydrated).

Now, I'm dreading LO1 coming home because we both still feel awful and I'm not sure how taking care of him is going to work.

What do you do when you and SO are both out of commission from sickness at the same time?!?
