I like all but one..... So I'll stick with them and just hope the one I don't like isn't on call, like I did last time. She's a great doctor.... But bad bedside manner. He doesn't ask me a lot of questions and doesn't explain much in appointments. I think I was lucky to have a really easy pregnancy with no complications. I also know he sees so many patients, but sometimes he didn't remember what we talked about previously and when I saw him last month for an annual exam, he completely forgot he put me back on birth control a few months back...why didn't he read my chart before coming in the room? When I saw one of his partners later on in my third trimester, I loved her! I felt a really good connection after talking with her for just a few minutes. It may be awkward to switch to her for my next pregnancy because there's a possibility I'll see my original doc at some point but it may be worth it to just suck it up. One of their other partners ended up delivering my baby, so it's a toss-up as to who will deliver. We LOVED the hospital we gave birth at and all of the midwives we saw (you don't see just one midwife, you get whoever is on that day but they were all lovely). Unfortunately, we've just moved cross country and will be here for the next 1.5 - 2 years, during which time we will hopefully have another baby. I've read mixed reviews about the midwife care up here but I'm going to be optimistic! There were little red flags here and there that she didn't pick up on. When I brought my concerns up at my post-partum appointment she essentially brushed me off. SO disappointed. My original OB (she's wonderful!) is a 45 minute drive on a good traffic day. I spent 2+ hours just driving home from appointments with LO. But so far I like this practice better. I haven't seen an OB yet, though I haven't purposefully avoided them, but I think since everything was fairly straightforward with my first pregnancy the OBs used the time during my appointment to hurry out and make up for lost time with other patients - I think more than half my appointments the OB was in there less than 5 minutes.
