We use the mixer or blender but he dumps things in and he turns the mixer/ blender on. He loves buttons.

His big thing is to help crack eggs. Some shells but he loves it.

They love rolling out dough, but they end up just playing and getting themselves all covered with the flour.

I let my 14.5 month old help me all the time! I let him carry ingredients from the pantry and he LOVES stirring. It can be messy though!

I measure out the ingredients into cups and spoons, and let the kids take turns dumping them into the mixing bowl. I also have them smell the spices before we add them, especially when it's a fun smell - ginger, cloves, cinnamon... or even something like coconut flour. Mixing the ingredients together can be hard for them though... plus it can be prone to a lot of accidents. If we're really careful and everything is supervised though, mixing can be a blast.

Their favorite part of baking though is kneading! We did it for the first time today, and the kids thought it was fresh playdoh. Didn't expect them to actually knead it properly, but they picked it up pretty quickly!

Downside though is that we lost about 10% of the dough in the process! Hope there's still enough for a gingerbread house!!

When you bake with the kids, how do you let them help?
