I can't imagine having him as a lap baby at this age--he is so wiggly and honestly he liked sitting in his carseat in his seat better! I'm pretty sure she would have wanted to be held most of the time anyway, although she would have liked a little more space at some points. I would also consider the layout of the plane. Is it three seats on either side of one aisle (aka you and your DH could tag team E in the middle?) Or two on either side and it would be easier to have everyone together? We've only flown with DD when she was 5 months old and the lap thing was a breeze. He was easier to manage at 7-8 months old. When we flew with him at 14-15 months old, it was miserable.
