I haven't flown with him yet, but I did hold someone else's baby on an Alitalia flight. A mom asked me to hold her baby (I guess I looked friendly) while she went to the bathroom. I agreed and then she left. On her way back from the bathroom, she stopped about 10 rows up and had a 20 minute conversation with someone there. I was wondering if she was ever going to come back! When she did, she thanked me and then said she was sorry she took so long, she needed to talk to her husband about something. I didn't say anything, but why didn't she give the baby to him?! Weird.

@Navy_Mommy: That is terrible!

I wore LO in the carrier when she was awake and I had to go to the bathroom. When she was sleeping in the bassinet, I asked a flight attendant to watch her.

I peed while holding her in my arms. I'm always wearing jeans when this happens, which is a mistake. It would be best to wear an elastic skirt. Anyway, I've found it's not that hard to get jeans and undies down one handrd, but it is tricky to get them back up one handed. It's doable though, except for the top button. Lol! I leave that open and cover it with the baby, then fix it at my seat.

I always had my LO in the ergo while I peed. Lol. But I will say once a lady offered to hold her while I napped! I didn't take her up on the offer but there are some really helpful strangers when you are traveling alone.

I haven't flown alone with her but on the 14 hr leg of our Australia to UK flight, DH and I were seated a few rows apart. A few times I had to use the loo, DH was sleeping and I didn't want to wake him, nor did I want to pick LO up whilst she was sleeping in the bassinet, so I just asked the mom seated next to me to keep an eye on her for a minute.

The mother next to me was flying alone with a 14 month old and a 3 yr old. I kept an eye on her kids every time she went to the bathroom as well and it was fine. If you're in a bassinet row, you're pretty much guaranteed to have parents seated next to you and they are generally more than happy to help out.

I wouldn't leave her alone. I've only flown short distances with her so far.
If I had to go I'd bring her with me. I don't need some idiot trying to feed her a peanut butter sandwich while I'm in the loo.

I flew on an 8 hour to England and had a row to myself. I left him in his carseat several times to pee. We were on an airplane.....most people were asleep anyway and noone was in our row.

I didn't go. I have an awesome bladder so it really wasn't that big of deal. I just made sure to go before every flight.

I've successfully pee'd in airport bathrooms and airplane bathrooms while holding my LO and with her in a wrap/sling. I thought it was actually easier to pee on the plane because the bathroom is so teensy, there's nowhere for your LO to wiggle off to! haha

@Navy_Mommy: oh my gosh, that's terrible!

I alone a few times with DS when he was under 1 year, but they were all shorter flights, less than 2.5hrs, so I made sure to pee in the airport beforehand.

I actually got sick on a plane and asked the flight attendant if she could watch my son while I used the restroom and she said she wasn't allowed. I was throwing up in an airplane bathroom with my 10 month old in a carrier on my back :'(

I have wondered the same thing! Never flown with a baby yet, but once I got to talking to a woman with a baby on Amtrak and she asked me to keep an eye on him while she peed. I think if you get friendly with your neighbor that would work.

I flew alone with my toddler at 18 months. I tried to only pee at the airport so she was in the stroller, but we had a delay on one of the planes, so i ended up just bringing her to the bathroom with me! She could walk though so she just hung out until i was done.

If you had to leave her in the seat, maybe check with a flight attendant? I dont think i would be comfortable leaving her in the row.

How do you go pee on the plane? Do you bring a baby carrier and have them in it while you go?

If you pay for them to have their own seat and they are in a car seat and sleeping, do you wake them up to go? Lol just wondering if anyone ever left their baby to go pee.
