Nex time we fly we'll have to buy her a seat though.

We've only flown once with her at 11 1/2 months. We got her a seat, it was a life saver. She was at the age where if she wasn't strapped in she would want to crawl around.

Lap. We've never flown more than a few hours though. If we were taking an international or cross-country trip I would definitely get a seat for her.

We did a flight from SFO to Charlotte NC and was fine on the way there (DD was 8 months) but coming home I would have given anything for her own seat. She was so squirmy and fussy that I really think she would have fallen asleep easier in her car seat. We're flying international in may when she will be 13 months and you can bet she is getting her own seat! But short trips (under 3 hrs) I'd have no problem holding her

I always did lap. I've never done more than an hour and a half flight with ds anyways. Maybe if it were longer, I would have sprung for his own seat.

We've got 2 flights coming up and will just have LO on our laps. The cost for a third seat was too much (over $800 each time, ouch!) and frankly, she's better behaved if she is being held haha

I've always done lap (most recently flyin Newfoundland-Florida with my 19 month old solo -- mistake!!!). Until they can walk hey are easy breezy on the plane. Then they want freedom!

Lap babies until age 2. Flying is so expensive as it is!

I would just keep LO on my lap, unless it was something like a 5+ hour flight.

We've flown twice with DD (at 15m and 18m) and both times just kept her on our laps. She slept so it worked out great.

DH is going away for a leadership summit in early April and we're still toying with the possibility of me going with him for a few days (although realistically I'll probably decide to put that money towards a new couch).

When you fly, do you get a seat for your LO or keep them in your lap? If we go I think I'd be leaning towards keeping him in my lap, but then I thought that an extra seat might be a smarter idea, but I don't want to pay for it, lol. In theory I'd hope the plane was empty enough that there would be an unfilled seat, but obviously I can't bank on or predict that.
