Maybe it will be easier when the baby's stuff is moved to my toddlers room, but right now my baby sleeps and has her changing pad and diapering supplies in our master bedroom. So either I can't rest or the baby is displaced all day and napping elsewhere, so then I would have too much guilt about the baby not napping well because of a new environment, haha.</p> <p>I mean,something like a stomach bug definitely, I would ask the nanny to come. But just because I'm tired.....nah. But they let me drink as much of their emergen-C to off-set the illness. When she took the position, she agreed that she would work if the kids were sick unless she herself needed a sick day. I just got over a really bad cold but my kids were still on winter break when it was at its worst. So for two days I suffered through until the weekend, then basically stayed in bed for a day when DH was home and he took care of them. But I always assume I'm paying the nanny her guaranteed hours whether they are working or not, since that's how my daycare works. We're starting our nanny screening process now and the issue of guaranteed hours was impressed upon me as being very important from the agency. I have a cold, but called in sick today because my 2.5 year old and 5 month old both have really bad congestion and coughs and were up all night and I got almost 0 sleep. The baby woke up at 12:30 with a terrible coughing fit and wouldn't go back to sleep till 2:30 am, after I sucked out her nose several times and fed her severeal times. She would only sleep on my chest. I think I fell asleep around 3. The toddler was up for the day at 5 am with a coughing fit and wouldn't go back down. When my alarm went off at 5:30 I just said eff it,and called in sick to work.</p> <p>I texted my nanny and told her not to come, that I was staying home. But then my husband said I should have had her come to help so I could rest. I don't know if I can rest if my kids are coughing in the other room, but maybe next time I will have her come a few hours.</p> <p>WWYD? </p>
