MIL was 20 when they had DH, while FIL was 30. I am 28 and DH is 30 so if we get pregnant in the next 10 months, we'll be the same age as my parents and FIL... here's to hoping! My parents we're 23/27 when they had me, but they also married when my mom was 18! My husband's parents were in their 30s (I was a first child, he was a last child). My mom was 21 and my dad was 23 when I was born, similar ages for my husband's parents. We are both the oldest in our families, if that makes a difference. They had my brother at 25 and 27. Hubs and I will be 34 and 38 when our first is born. Yikes. Thinking about that really makes me feel old. DH's parents were 31/29 when they had him. We are TTC in the next couple of months, so hopefully we will be around 22-24 when we have a baby. My parents weren't even married until my mom was 26 and my dad was 32. However, DH's parents got married when his mom was 22 and his dad was 19, but they didn't have him for almost 10 years afterward. My mom said she was one of the last of her friends to have kids, and my dad was definitely older for that generation. That was a little surreal. My husband and I both turned 27 in October and his mom (not so subtly) told us that she had just turned 27 when she had her first baby. My dad will almost be 70 when he's finally a grandpa! That seems super old to me for a first-time grandpa.
