My house is like an episode of Chopped every night. I look in the fridge and the pantry and invent. So far I've only had one huge failure. Mandarin oranges are a tricky, tricky ingredient.

We eat pretty the same thing for breakfast during the week (me, yogurt; Hubs, protein bar) and usually cereal on the weekends. For lunch we either pack a sandwich or leftovers. So I only meal plan for dinner, one week at a time.

For this coming week's meals, I have planned:
Meatball hoagies
Alphabet soup pot roast
Turkey-stuffed bell peppers
Asparagus lemon pasta
Crock pot pork and green chile stew

I typically plan only 4-5 meals per week, cuz we'll eat leftovers or eat out one or 2 nights a week. I shop once a week (usually Sundays). It has cut our monthly grocery bill down by about $40/month because I used to shop for the whole month and then things would spoil and I'd have to go back and replace them. This makes it much less expensive and much faster for me - I can be in and out of the grocery store in 20 minutes!

I only do dinners and only 3 meals for the week. The other nights we get home too late or we are planning to be at my parents for Sunday dinner or it's Friday, which is fend-for-yourself day. Besides, if we cooked every night, we'd be up to our eyeballs in leftovers.

I only plan dinners. I always have things around the house for breakfast. As long as I have bread and eggs I'm set, and I'll usually have something in the freezer like frozen waffles or bagels, and there's always cereal. And for lunch I'll usually have leftovers or I usually have stuff for a sandwich or pasta.

Not really, but usually what I'll do is decide what I want to eat for breakfast that week (frozen waffles, cereal, oatmeal) and then buy that and that's my breakfast. For lunch I have an idea of what dinners will create leftovers and which days we won't have leftovers (like if DH cooks, nothing he makes ever leaves leftovers, or if I know we're fending for dinner like if he has to work and I'm not up for cooking a whole meal), and try to buy something like soup for those days. Otherwise I'll just decide to eat out on those days. So I guess it's just a loose plan.

We only plan dinners. We typically shop once a week on Sundays and when we get to the store I ask DH what he wants for dinners. So we pick out a few dinners, usually things like shrimp scampi, grilled steak w/potatoes, chicken something or other, etc.

We individually pick out what we want for lunches and breakfasts. Sometimes we both wants sandwiches for lunch that week so we get a lot of cold cuts, sometimes we get other stuff. I generally fluctuate between oatmeal and cereal for breakfast so if I'm low on whatever I feel like for the week I'll get more, and DH always eats cereal.

We plan lunches and dinners, because we both like lunchtime variety, even though there are often repeats (read: leftovers) during the week.

I also only plan dinners. Lunch is usually leftovers and I go out to eat on Fridays. Breakfast is usually oatmeal, yogurt, or fried eggs on toast. And DH and I fend for ourselves. So I always make sure I have these things on hand.

I plan for lunch and dinner, but lunch is often leftovers. For breakfast we always eat the same thing, so the ingredients go on my list automatically. We actually have a special program that one of the developers at DH's work made for us where I put all my recipes. I do my meal plan, selecting which recipes I will make when and then it gives me my grocery list. I haven't done my list for next week yet, I usually do it on Saturday mornings.

I eat the same thing for breakfast every day and lunch is usually leftovers (if for some reason we don't have any, I go with tuna salad). So I meal plan for dinner only and try and do most of the prep on Sundays after I grocery shop.

I only plan dinners, but for breakfast and lunch we eat pretty much the same things every day so I know what to pick up from the store each time.

So I know for breakfast I need to have tea, muffin mix/bread/english muffin, and fruit and luna bars if I'm short on time.

And lunch my husband takes the dinner leftovers and I make a panini and salad (bread, deli meat, cheese, spinach, grape tomatoes, cucumber) I switch up the meats, cheeses, condiments and dressings so I don't get too bored.

Nah, I usually just do dinner and then get a bunch of random stuff like bagels, bread, lunchmeat, etc for breakfast and lunch. I dont even decide what days I'm cooking things, I just think:

Okay, this week I'm making tacos, spaghetti, steaks, rosemary chicken, etc. Then we decide what sounds good the night of.

I only plan dinners but we usually have leftovers that we can eat for lunch, and I try to keep hard boiled eggs, frozen veggies, fish, and yogurt in the house, in case there isn't anything fresh to eat.

This is my dinner plan for next week:
Slow cooker chicken & onions with salad
Shrimp fajitas
Paella
Slow cooker sweet & sour pork back with acorn squash

I only plan four meals because we either eat out or eat leftovers a couple nights, or I'm lazy and just pull something from the freezer (I always keep leftover frozen soup on hand, as well as meatballs and pasta sauce).

This is what I've got planned so far for next week (mostly stuff I intended to make this week, but we ended up eating leftovers instead):

- meatloaf, cauliflower, baked potatoes
- tofu, cabbage, rice
- Moroccan meatball stew

do you plan for every breakfast and lunch as well?

I usually give general ideas - like, "Breakfast: Choose one: Green smoothie, granola + yogurt, oatmeal, quinoa, eggs"
There are usually a few days though where I don't know what to eat because I don't plan it.

We ordered an Organic CSA fall share and just got our first one yesterday!! I'm so excited. I'm in pinterest finding lots of vegetable and soup recipes. So this week will be many soups :)

What's on your meal plan for the week?
