I've never thought about this but now realize I do have a routine. I start with him sitting up and do his left arm first and then right. I lay him down, put on his diaper/cream, then put his legs in. Then I always button from the top down.

Pre-rolling, I did arms first. Since the rolling and feet grabbing, I do her right leg, right arm, left leg, left arm. I have to snap the legs as fast as possible, so I usually try to keep one or two snaps closed at the bottom before putting her feet in!

I pre snap the legs, then put them on like pants. I try to limit the snaps I do on her body cause she's so squirmy!

I lay it out flat, lie him on it, then put both arms in (holding down the arm I'm not sleeving at the same time so he doesn't roll), then both legs, then snap both legs and then up the front. I don't undo the snaps past the belly button if I'm just doing a diaper change. it's been a long time since he's worn sleepers now

He's been only in onesies for the summer, but we were doing feet first. Lay him on top of the jammies, slide in the feet, do some snaps. Then his arms and finish snapping.

@bpcmarj: me too! I totally thought that was normal!

Feet first!

But he is a toddler... I think I did it differently when he was a non-mobile infant. I would lay him on top of the sleeper, but I probably still did feet first. I don't remember ha.

Arms, then the harder leg (at least with the Carter's zip-ups...the side that doesn't zip all the way to the ankle) then the other leg, then zip up.

I would say that I do arms first because she's less able to get those out than her legs. I had to really think about it though! She hasn't had a sleeper on in months with the summer heat.

I know this may sound silly but I'm serious - where do you start? Do you start with the arms first? The legs first? Down one side (left or right) first? Or just whichever limb isn't flailing around too much?

I find that I normally start on her left side (my right) first, doing her arm, her leg, then the other leg, then her other arm, zip or snap. But sometimes, if I'm changing a diaper and my focus is already down there, I'll start with the feet and start snapping halfway up until I get to her torso.

Where do you start when you slip you LO into a sleeper?
