Yup, mine are always dripping wet. I also hate the water that's trapped "on top of" the tupperware after a wash. I flip it over and just let it sit and dry.

Yes...and I washed some by hand at the new house yesterday (because of lack of dishwasher), and even though I was towel drying, it still took forever to get the water off. Droplets kept forming!

@Bao: I was curious, so just looked it up... and was intrigued to find out it comes down to heat! Basically glass cups get hotter in the wash, and so that heat causes the water to evaporate faster. Plastic cups don't get as hot, and so the water takes forever to evaporate naturally.

<< I swear the tupperware dries faster when it's handwashed. Even when I take it out and leave it on the drying rack it seems to take forever.>>

@PurplePumps: I've noticed that too!!!

I find that if I shake each cup after the dishwasher runs (so that the huge water droplets fall off), then it dries about at about the same rate as handwashed tupperware. I think for whatever reason, huge droplets of water are attracted to tupperware!!

I was just saying that to DH! I swear the tupperware dries faster when it's handwashed. Even when I take it out and leave it on the drying rack it seems to take forever.

UGH yes, not just tupperware, anything plastic. We used to frequent a pizza place in Indy when we lived there (Hot Box Pizza) that had this "deal" that was like $22 for a pizza, breadsticks, and 2 drinks in reusable cups. We must have 50 of those dang cups! They're AMAZING- wider, plastic cups, great for water. But they're the same way in the dishwasher and such a pain to have to hand dry them after it runs!!!! I have stopped using them but DH has *amazingly* picked up my slack. (Head ---> desk.) Maybe i'm just sick of it because the dishwasher is my job, haha!

Yep - I wipe them dry. Emptying the dishwasher is one of the worst "chores" and wet tupperware makes it worse.

Yes, and water collects on the rims of the plastic as well.

However, I don't wash (plastic) tupperware in the dishwasher anymore. After BPA became more well known of a problem, I started worrying about what heating the plastic will do to the integrity of the plastic and if any other chemicals leech out.

I really need to start replacing our tupperware with glass or ceramic containers so that I feel ok about putting them in in the microwave/dishwasher!

Yes. And it always flips over and gets filled with water. We just leave it out to dry overnight.

Tupperware drives me crazy... whenever we wash it, it gets covered in water droplets and takes forever to dry!!

When you wash tupperware in the dishwasher, does it get super duper wet? How do you dry it off, other than just leaving in a rack to air dry for half the day?
