Sippy cup of milk in the morning (and we still do this at 3, it just comes as I'm making breakfast!) and we kept the bedtime bottle for awhile, eventually replacing it with a sip of water from a sippy cup.

We switched to sippy cups of milk at meals. He eats cheese and yogurt every day, so I don't stress about his milk intake. At our daycare I bring a clean sippy every day and they provide the milk.

We took away all bottles except the night time bottle like 2 weeks after LO turned 12 months. What we do is milk in the morning with breakfast, water with lunch and dinner, and milk here and there if she hasn't eaten that much, and then a night time bottle. At day care they offer her milk and water with all meals/snacks.

We give him milk in a straw cup outside of meal times. We try not to give it to him right before meal times because we want him to eat instead. But when he demands it, we'll give it to him and just hope he's still hungry for food food.

We give him water during meal times.

@regberadaisy: We skipped milk, and just offer water in cups at meal times, and try to have a sippy cup of water around the house for drinking while playing.

@regberadaisy: I think they just had him sit at the high chair table with his milk until he was done (or had stopped drinking).

@Adira: do you remember what they did at daycare? I guess I can ask the teachers to sit with her while she drinks out of a straw cup?
We're ready to be done with bottles!!!

we did milk in a bottle for a bit then just started with sippies. He didn't take to the sippy cup at first so we did a lot of smoothies for breakfast. Now he takes milk in a sippy at meals and has a sippy with diluted juice throughout the day.

Hmm, we switched from bottles to straw- and open cups. We did WCM at meals and for snacks (unless he drank a lot of milk during meal time. Then, just water). I'd usually have him eat a bit first and then would bring out the milk, otherwise he'd chug it all down at first sight.

Our situation is a little different because she didn't take bottles very often and BF until almost 20 months. But around a year she stopped liking bottles of expressed milk when I was away, so we started putting it in straw cups at the usual times she would nurse (around a year I think that was wake up, after nap, before bed). She was a pretty good solids eater by then so I started offering cows milk in a cup at meals but she would only take sips here and there for a while. As she self weaned from BFing she started drinking more cows milk at meals but it never affected her eating, and I didn't replace dropped nursing sessions with milk cups.

We haven't done this yet with Logan, but I think with Xander, we just swapped out the bottle for a sippy cup at his normal bottle time. And then once he was completely on cups, we started just giving him milk with his meals instead of water (and water with his snack, which was around the original bottle time).

We went with wcm in bottles at their regular times, then transitioned to milk in bottles but only at nap at bedtime + offering in sippy cups at meals (they never drank the milk out of supplies when bottles were an option later!), then we went off bottles completely. Right now I offer cups of milk with meals, plus before naps and bedtime. They still nurse too, but I've always had low supply (at least, for two babies at the same time) so I don't know how much milk they really get from me. They are 17 months now.

What did you do?

My brain is drawing a blank as to what we did with my oldest!
Did you give milk during meals? At regular bottle times but in a straw/sippy cup?
DD2 isn't eating that great right now so I hesitate to add milk at meal times. But I don't think at school they will let her walk / crawl around with milk in a cup.
