Poor lady was still screaming when I went to the recovery room. Or maybe it was a different woman. But our nurse was super flustered because there were so many laboring mothers. (haha?) i couldn't bear the thought of talking or making any noise at all. i felt like if i said a word, i'd explode into a million pieces and completely lose control (and not in a loud way, but in a scary pain kinda way!) anyway.... i went on to get an epi both times and they were GREAT! One woman in particular was crazy loud in the waiting room! It was absolutely terrifying. It was like no screaming I've ever heard before. I think my face went stark white and I started to doubt myself a little when that happened, I mentioned it to my nurse when she came back in the room and she said that I'd heard the last few pushes. The hospital was full and you could definitely hear when walking the halls. From my room I remember in particular right as the Pitocin was started there was a woman screaming like she was being murdered. Honestly it was pretty terrifying but the midwife was with me and was like, don't worry it's not going to be like that for you. Very calming. I even asked if they were busy. When I first got there 10pm at night they said I was the only one they were wanting to be in labor. Others they were trying to stop. And they were packed to the brim with ladies(they didn't even have a bed ready for me and another woman when we arrived) With my second, i was a scheduled csection. While I was waiting in my L&D room I heard woman screaming like crazy, and then a baby cry. I looked at DH and said 'that woman did not have an epidural!' But I could tell by the monitors that someone had their baby and I was so jealous! 4 hours later I had mine though :). I did hear someone when I was there for an NST.
