@mrbee: oh no! And you can't just walk quickly away from a cab driver either! Ugh. We're not there yet so I can't really offer any advice but at least it gets better as they get older...right? As they learn about inside voices, whispering and keeping mean things to themselves.

@mrbee: nothing (she was on her way outside) but I was mortified

He has been in 1st grade for what 6 weeks? And he comes home with all kinds of new stuff!

Last night at Cub Scouts in front of everyone he told me "Mommy, my curse word finger hurts, see!"

  :bummed:

Another parent looked at me and said "yeah, the things they pick up on in school!"

yep. me! :bummed:
I am trying to teach my DS "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all"

DSS had a friend over and my DS told her "wow, you don't even need a Halloween costume, you already look like a vampire"

Every time we get in a cab, my son will tell me if the driver is "stinky" or not. Or as he puts it, "Dad, the driver is stinky!" Usually it's just the strong air freshener, but sometimes the cab driver is actually stinky. Argh, when that happens it makes me want to disappear into the backseat cushions!!

Working to teach him that not all thoughts need to be expressed... but not sure the best way to phrase it.

Anyone else dealing with kids that embarrass you with their very public observations?
