I feel that way sometimes especially if things have been going smoothly for a while. I'll feel like I need to up my strictness or something. LO was sick this weekend too. When I realize he's sick, I then I feel bad for possibly being too hard on him.

After I realized that all children act up as some point, I didn't feel so bad. But before that realization, yes...I felt like a bad loser mommy. :( But now I figure every child acts up so it's just part of the experience of raising a toddler.

Yes. LO is too little to throw tantrums but when she was colicky and cried all the time, I felt like a terrible parent who couldn't soothe her own child!

LO is too young to throw real tantrums, but she does act up occasionally. I figure it's natural and don't feel too bad about it. Haha

I think before I might have.... but now that I see that everybody has issues with their kids, I don't think that I'll think I did something wrong with LO if she acts up. I'll think she's just a normal kid and that's life.

If it is really bad acting up for a reason that I cannot decipher, then it is so frustrating to say the least! If there is a good reason for it (like sickness), then I don't feel so bad and try to deal with it the best that I can.

I was feeling like Charlie was responding to all our positive parenting/timeouts... and then he started being a total monster last week! I felt like a fraud.

Then it turned out that he was sick... and I felt better about my parenting skills. Although my confidence is still pretty shaken. Gonna have to rethink how to handle a sick tantrumy toddler... cuz my patience is literally almost all gone at this point!

Anyway, backing up to before we realized that Charlie was running a temperature. When your LO acts up, do you feel like your parenting credibility is shot?
