I let him sleep as long as he wants and adjust his nap schedule if needed--we'll skip his first nap. His wake-ups are usually consistent, though, even with bad sleep.

I do better when I keep the same schedule all of the time, even on weekends, so I do the same for LO. He's not a late sleeper, never has been though.

Weekdays we have no choice, we let her sleep in as long as we can before we wake her up to take her to daycare. Weekends she sleeps in (and so does mommy and daddy) as late as she wants, but she's pretty consistent.

She's already on one nap, so she can sleep however late she wants. Her wake-up time affected her much more why she was on a two nap schedule.

I'm the same as @Sammyfab, and won't let her sleep in past 8am otherwise everything gets thrown off.

My LO is 13 months and the latest I'll let him sleep is 7:45-8 or else everything just gets pushed way too late. He's been on one nap since he turned 1.

I guess it depends on how bad your LO's night was and how you plan to structure your day. If you're going to do 1 nap today you still have to make sure she has enough awake time during the day (especially if you plan to keep her regular bedtime) or else you're just giving her another reason to wake up in the middle of the night. :)

On weekdays it doesn't matter, since we have to leave to go to daycare/work.

On weekends, I let her sleep as long as she wants, whenever she wants (night time and nap times). She's only 4.5 months though, and doesn't have much of a schedule at this point.

Do you let them sleep in to compensate for the missed sleep and adjust naps for day or do you wake them up and keep your usual schedule?

LO is almost 1 and has definitely been going through a funk with sleep (teething, milestones, wonder week) so we've been rolling with the punches. She usually wakes up 6:30-7:30 am, even with her recent night wakings that can last as long as 2 hours, but she slept in until almost 9 am today! So, instead of 2 naps shel'll be getting one and have her usual bedtime. We're also in that 2-1 nap transition so hopefully all will work out today. So many moving levers!!

How do you handle rough nights with your LO?
