@artbee: honestly DH is so great about helping out- really. We usually take turns getting up with ds whether or not we're sick. But these last two weeks have been busy and stressful and both of us were sleep deprived so he was so excited about his late day that he got to sleep in. So I do understand. But at the same time I've been Cobi's sole caregiver all week because DH works 12-14 hr days mon-weds. So I'm exhausted too, it's hard finding that medium between- I work hard as a SAHM and need a break. DH works hard at his job and needs a break. You know?!

And it doesn't help that Cobi has been waking up 2-3x a night since we moved in :P

*update* still sick! Blegh

But DH genuinely feels bad... That morning I did the nice wifey thing and made him breakfast. When he rolled out of bed an hour later I handed it to him and said, "here. You don't deserve this."
His face was so funny. "Are you mad at me?"
"Yup."
"Because I didn't get up with Cobi?"
"Yup."

The morning entailed many apologies and needless to say he will be getting up with Cobi all weekend AND cleaning the house :) I have the text to prove it hahaha!!!

I'd be pissed at DH if he didn't get up instead of me!

Wow, I'd be kind of pissed at my DH. I get really bad migraines, so that's my kind of sick. He's used to having to help out a lot and he's amazing when it comes to going above and beyond at doing extra work and taking care of LO. When LO was a newborn he would always be the one to take the crappy shifts at night so I could get my rest.... or I'd get a migraine.

I guess it depends how sick I am. If I can just deal with it, I do. I'll go in LO's room and lay on her floor while she plays. But many days I can't deal with it. Sometimes DH has to take off, or my mom will take off. She works for my dad so she is able to do that whenever I need her.... and she's retiring soon. I think I'm more excited than she is because then I won't have to worry as much when I get a migraine!

@Coco Bee: YES!!! What's up with that?! I'm the same as you. I'd totally let the hubs sleep and recover, but we get the short end of the double standard on things like this.

If DH is home and I'm sick, I expect him to take the brunt of the workload with DD until I'm feeling better. Once he's at work I pick it back up, but I feel like I'll get better faster if I can rest and recover.

@Alivoo01: He would totally expect me to let him sleep in if he were sick.. .which I would.

To be fair, he did fetch DS for me at 2am when he woke up. but his room is 10 feet away so I guess it's not that big of a deal.

Honestly, that is my BIGGEST fear! I have expressed what a worry this is to my DH, he assures me that if I'm that sick he'll take the day and be with the kids. But, I don't really believe him. We haven't had to do that yet, but I know it will come sooner rather than later. I wish you luck today with your sick LO and yourself. I have to admit that if I were in your shoes, I would be a little angry as well :(

Both DS and me are sick... only he still seems perfectly happy! We had a really busy weekend with lots of people and airports so I'm not surprised we're sick. However I'm kinda mad at DH because today he doesn't work until 12:30pm so last night I asked him if he'd get up with DS so I could get some extra sleep and he laughed at me. He does that but I figured he would get up with him... and he didn't. I am mad at him :( Not looking forward to all day with a sick baby and me sick as well.

What do you guys do when you're sick but still a SAHM?!
