LO would finish 2 of her 3 day bottles, but would always leave 1oz+ in one of the bottles (sometimes more). I assumed it was because she didn't want to finish out of boredom. We use the playtex ventaire bottles with a slow flow nipple. It should take at least as long to eat a bottle as it does to breastfeed. Sometimes, particularly in the evenings (around 6pm or later), it takes him a really long time to finish a bottle. He is currently on the slowest flow nipple (Philips Avent level 1). It can take 40 minutes or more for him to finish 4 oz (although in the afternoons it can take as short as 20 minutes). Also, sometimes I think he sucks hard enough that he's collapsing the nipple. So I thought I would try a faster flow (level 2), but I felt like he was drowning and had to pull out the bottle after every 2 sucks.</p> <p>He doesn't seem unhappy about the Level 1 nipple. Should I just let it be? Did it take a few tries to transition your baby to a faster flow nipple? When could you tell that it was time to transition?</p> <p>Thanks in advance! Never thought I'd be using the word "nipple" so much in an internet post. </p>
