She was really comfortable there and my mom knew our routine and followed it. It went great and she has since then spent about one night a month there for various reasons. When she was 9 months old we went on a 4 day vacation without her (she stayed at my parents again) and it went great. We missed her so much but she had a great time and it was really good for our marriage to be able to focus just on each other with no distractions. We'll be leaving him again in a couple of weeks and again in a month (right before 2.5 years old). I'm freaking out a little but he's a pretty easygoing kid and he LOVES his grandma. I was probably one before she left me for more than one night. I think it's healthy for everyone to be able to separate yourself from your kid. The longer you wait to spend your first night away the harder it gets for both parents and baby. But I will say a full vacation (like more than a weekend) might be tough at 6 months, especially of you're breast feeding. This will most likely be six months after I give birth. Dh and I have always planned on joining them for their wedding as they are our best couple friends as well.
