He hasn't been able to come since and I've been happy to have him save his leave for when the baby is actually here. The practice I'm with had a meet-and-greet a couple weeks ago and he was able to introduce himself to and get to know all the midwives and a couple doctors in the group. Even though he hasn't been at my appointments with them, he's more comfortable having met whomever might be the midwife on call when I go into labor. I told him he didn't need to since it was a regular checkup for me too, but he insisted. He also asks a ton of questions! He dropped me off and picked me up bearing food when it was done. We have a meeting with the heads of our practice during the 3rd tri to talk about birth preferences/plans so he'll definitely come to that but I think that'll be it, barring any complications.
