I had a friend in from overseas so we spent the day in Oxford whilst DH took the kids over to his parents' house and hung out there with them. I was gone for five glorious kid free hours - the longest I have EVER been away from either of them whilst they were awake! </p> <p>Other than that, we have a regular babysitter who comes over for an hour or two one afternoon per week whilst I run errands or go to the gym - this is a brand new thing though and we are only on our third week of this arrangement. Dd is 15 months and the first time I have ever left her overnight. I got to sleep in a big fluffy hotel bed all by myself, slept in until 10 and didn't have to wake up and do anything for anyone. Took multiple long showers, ate room service. It was awesome! I was dreading being away from her but it was so good for me.
