There used to be hostesses to start threads when things were slow and post-a-thons to encourage more interaction with the site. Frequent updates, however, did seem to drive traffic to this site. The boards used to move so quickly that it was hard to keep up! When you write a new post you just add a tag. Some subs demand you add a tag before you can start a thread. And then you can filter by tags. But you are right.
