@irunforfun: The curved wall is now throwing me for a loop. If it was a straight wall I would say one long rod and only curtain panels on the edges, leaving the middle window with just the rod above it. But now I'm thinking roman shades. West Elm has some (for 50% off!). Roman Shades are a nice clean look too.
Also, you could go to a West Elm, Pottery Barn, or Restoration Hardware and get their opinion on what would look/fit best with that window. Then you could always buy it somewhere else for cheaper or wait for a sale. My friend always finds good stuff on Joss & Main too. Sorry I'm not more help!!

I was surprised to find some cheap ones at Lowe's. I don't know if you have Lowe's around you but it might be worth a look!

@CibMomma: Would you do drapery on outer windows and a valance on middle window, maybe? Or leave middle window curtainless?

Thanks!

Just saw your photo. Only hang the drapery on the outer windows, not in between bc of the radiator. What a nice space!

I like West Elm's linen blend drapery, it's a great value. Wait for their next 20% off sale to get the best price. I would go with curtains as high as you can hang them to just touching the floor. In between the wide and long windows hang 50" panels, it will create a nice, soft look. I would stay away from a valance just because curtains are a more classic look that you will like for a long time. As far as color? Stay neutral and bring in your pops of color with pillows, throws, and artwork. Good luck!

Not sure where you're located, but Target has quite a variety of styles of valances that are pretty inexpensive!

We are moving into a new apartment in less than 2 weeks, and the windows are kind of weird. We have curtains at our current place, but they won't work for the windows in the new place, except for in one room.

There are bump-outs in two of the rooms, so there's one regular-width window with a really narrow window on each side of it. The center windows are 35 inches across x 62 inches down, and the side windows are 21.5 inches across x 62 inches down.

To further complicate things, there are hinged wooden shutters on the bottom halves of all of these windows.

Basically, the shutters take care of the privacy issue on the bottom half of the windows, and there are pull down shades already in place on all the windows, too.

We really only need valances for decorative purposes. I don't want to spend a lot of money and I'm not crafty enough to DIY them.

We have a gray/yellow theme going in the living room, a deep grayish purple with some coral going on in the bedroom, and blue/green in the other living space.

Any suggestions on where I should look?
