@littleredhairedgrl: I would definitely try giving her some ibuprofen (works better than tylenol for big pain like that) because, being in pain will make her behave worse. But, like @regberadaisy: said, the huge changes in personality are part of toddlerhood. It will get better!

@littleredhairedgrl: I'm so glad I'm not alone. LO turns 15mo tomorrow and for the last week I've been wondering what the heck is going on. My sweet, quiet, mild mannered little boy has turned into an angry Tasmanian devil! My mom keeps telling me my easy baby is finally normal :bummed: :silly: .

My DD is almost 16 months and I was just wondering what happened to my sweet little girl too! Tons of whining, wanting to be carried, can't make up her mind with what she wants, etc. I feel like the past month has almost been harder than when she was a newborn.
Hang in there mama. Like others mentioned it sounds like things get better after 18 months or so. I hope so!!

@littleredhairedgrl: hang in there, it will get better (probably worse first, but it always makes it more tolerable to expect the awful!) and it will be hard work having 2 that young but will be so so awesome at the same time to have them so close in age!

If the whining toward the end of pregnancy is normal that's good news for me but that also just sounds like toddlerhood. You can never really tell what's a phase and what's a thing, just have to wait it out! Good luck!

15 months was hard for me! So.much.whining. I also find that clinginess gets worse closer to the end of your pregnancy. Mine was awful in the last two months!

Hang in there! It may get better after baby comes!

@runnerd: yes i did see your post! urgh can't believe this is something that we're all going thru! was F's appetite a bit lower when he was being a maniac? A just doesn't seem interested in food at all lately (not like she's a big eater ever, but it's less than usual).

@littleredhairedgrl: well you have already seen my Instagram post - F has been a nightmare. His my little nightmare, but still :)

I thought I wasn't going to survive last week, but all of the sudden he is all sweet again. We think it's a molar at the root of his problems since his fingers are practically down his throat everyday. I'm just waiting for the awful to return...

15-17 months were torturous for us. It's getting better at 18 months. I don't know how you do it while pregnant! I kept saying how glad I was we waited to TTC #2 because it was hard times!!

DS is almost 15 months and often gets super cranky and fussy. I'm pretty sure it is a mix of boredom and frustration because he is really mobile and can do a lot more now but he still can't verbalize much. Like other posters have said, we have found that keeping him really busy helps his mood so much. When we are at home, I try and have him "help" with chores or tasks which he seems to enjoy.

It's completely normal and will get worse...then better...then you will be certain she became the spawn of the devil...then she will be a sweet angel and the spawn of the devil all in the same day. Welcome to real toddlerhood. :)

P.s. If she is that uncomfortable and the pedi has said its molars I wouldn't hesitate giving her some meds. My little one is cutting 2-3 teeth at once and she is so miserable and in so much pain. After 30 minutes of ibuprofen she is a different baby !

Yeah we definitely had to get out of the house a bunch, even just going to the backyard helped. Now at almost 19 months we do OK staying in the house for a day or 2 a week. So on those days I do my laundry and cleaning. Other days we go out to the park, play in the water table, chalk, etc.

@BabyBoecksMom: no, i haven't given her anything since she hasn't had a fever or any other symptoms. just frustrating! i've noticed it's worse if we stay in the house for the day, with all her energy she needs to be out for at least one outing where she can run around and exhaust herself..

Both of my girls seemed to go through a personality change about that time. I'm sure the molars aren't making anything easier. Have you given her Motrin? If so, did her mood change when the medicine kicked in?

Yes! This happened to my nephew and my own DD. Between 15 and 18 months they were both extremely whiney and difficult! I think it might be a developmental thing. Ugh we just got out of it. It was not fun.

A is now 15m (13m corrected) and had her 15m well visit this past Friday where she got 2 vaccines in her arms for the first time. Since then she's been whining all the time, wanting to be held and had an extremely low appetite (and basically just screams when seated in her highchair with food). Our pediatrician said she has a molar coming in and is very swollen in her gums, but it seems like ever since the dr visit she's been different.

Normally A is an extremely happy and overall pleasant little chick, but now I'm so concerned that she is turning into a terror.. And being 7m pregnant and exhausted all the time isn't helping my coping with her craziness..

Is this normal? Help!
