Okay clearly I don't know the lingo. Didn't even know there was a team purple let alone green.

@mh.albania OMGosh I think you just solved my "nursery"/DS bedroom issues! YAY! thanks

okay back to topic:

I do think that light greens are more neutral than yellow, but that may just be b/c I don't like yellow as a "neutral" lol

I think it depends what shade of green. Crayon green is more boy, I agree, but most greens that we would decorate with are very gender neutral.

Not team green here, by the way. :) Finally decided.

I think green is very neutral. We're doing a cream and light green based nursery, and if it's a girl we'll add a few plum purple details. My teenage bedroom was all green, and it was very feminine. I hate the yellow thing for neutral rooms.

I agree that yellow is more neutral and green is more boy-ish. In 1800's England, pink was actually a color for boys and girls were put in baby blue. I wonder when that changed.

I'd like to add, even though green is "accepted" as neutral, green us way more boy than girl in my mind...

My *guess* is that it is because green is kind of the accepted neutral baby color (along with yellow, but "team yellow" sounds bad). That's what I've always assumed, anyway! Anyone have a better guess?

So far, this is what I've been able to figure out using Google:

* Team Blue = Knowing that you're having a boy
* Team Pink = Knowing that you're having a girl
* Team Green = Not knowing if you're having a boy or girl

(Apparently there's even a Team Purple, where you know you're having fraternal boy/girls!)

But anyway, back to my question. Where did the phrase "Team Green" come from? And why Green?
