When we were just hanging out with friends we'd usually go somewhere, the mall, TGI Friday's, or if close to home, Dunkin Donuts. We had two in our town- one at the top of the main ave and one at the bottom. We called them "upper Dunkin" and "lower Dunkin." I was an "upper Dunkin" person for sure, ha. My friends and I would hang out on the steps of a church on a street that was closed to traffic (it had shops open during the day, but was just a pedestrian path at night).</p> <p>My parents couldn't believe we really were that boring and followed me one weekend. We would drive the "strip" and stop and talk to other cars and people. Once I was a senior we went to house parties. We had a lot of parents buying alcohol or looking the other way. Oh and they had pay cable channels! (I didn't have any cable at all, so it was like heaven.) I would go there and we would hang out, play cards with friends, shoot pool, etc. Haha now that I think about it, I'd love to have a place like that now!</p> <p>I played sports so after games, sometimes I'd go out with my teammates to wherever they were going. But I pretty quickly realized that I'm a homebody and enjoy hanging out with my friends more - so did mostly that.</p> <p>As a parent now, I realize that she just wanted to keep her son safe, so she made her house a magnet for his friends. It totally worked, and now I'm wondering if some day I should do the same!</p> <p>Where did you hang out on weekends in high school? </p>
