There was also a face painting lady who mostly painted on the little kids hands bc the kids wanted to see the drawing. They also had dropped the hoop on one side for the bigger kids to play basketball. They provided tables, chairs, plates and utensils for kids, juice boxes, pizza, balloons and goodie bags. They allowed me to bring whatever food I wanted so I had snacks and food for the adults and cupcakes for everyone. I loved just packing my stuff and leaving the clean up for them. I don't think I'll ever host a kids party at my house again (unless it's a small slumber party or something). We rented out the whole cafe for 3 hours. Her second was at home (but that was just for immediate family)</p> <p>I'm already planning a pony party for her 5th birthday (haha. Hopefully she still likes ponies then). WAY too much involved. Her 2nd was at KidsU which is in NJ but it's a HUGE space much like gymboree but it also has a quad cube for climbing and a small basketball area. It also had a toddler area for little children too so you can accommodate kids of all ages. One place we are considering is the local humane society. I'm thinking about throwing birthday parties for both kids this year. Maybe something smaller for Olive at our home with her closest friends.</p> <p>But now that Charlie is starting kindergarten in the fall and will be with the same kids for the next 6 years, I want to make an effort to get to know the other kids and parents. Plus he goes to so many birthday parties, I do want to do something for the big 5.</p> <p>His birthday is in December so we have to rent a place that's indoors because our small apartment would not be big enough to host a party.</p> <p>Some options include Gymboree-type place, ice skating, karate or yoga studio....</p> <p>Where did you or will you hold your LO's bday party? </p>
