I have AWFUL vision (like, I can't order glasses through Warby Parker because they don't make them in a high enough RX for me), so my glasses are super expensive (like 400-500, insurance helps a little). I have to get the thinnest, lightweight, etc. lenses otherwise they are like coke bottles (although they are still kinda like coke bottles!).</p> <p>I can only tolerate one brand of contacts which are super expensive wherever you buy them. So, I figure may as well support my local optometrist and a local business.</p> <p>Edited to add - my glasses are about a -13 diopter if anyone else has bad vision and understands. I took my prescription and ordered off framesdirect.com for my first pair (i wanted a very specific pair--Guess 2372 in rose) and my second back up pair, i ordered off Warby Parker. My insurance covers 2 pairs up to $90, so my good ones were only $125 and my WP's were only $10.
