When I was working I'd listen to NPR everyday to and from work. Now I feel like I just don't get the news because I don't listen to Npr as much!

New York Times, Guardian, Daily Mail for guilty pleasure trash-reading (uh, I need to stop with this, actually, since I'm contributing to their page views), NBC Nightly News, CBS Morning News/The Today Show during the weekday mornings, CBS Sunday Morning when I'm not too busy during its air time, 60 Minutes, occasionally will read husband's Economist.

I watch CNN when I'm getting ready for work, and then check my local papers online. I have the USA Today app on my phone, and I get notifications whenever there is breaking news. We do get the paper on paper during the weekend, but we mostly look at the ads.

NYTimes, Guardian, New Yorker, and NPR. My brother-in-law writes an economics blog that I get my econ news from (understanding jobs reports, etc.). Sometimes Slate, Salon, and the Atlantic, too. When I visit my parents, I love reading the Boston Globe--bizarrely lurid crime coverage--and the hilarious local newspaper that has front-page pictures of pumpkin carving contests and the like.

I get the NY Times in my google reader, listen to NPR, and occasionally watch the local news or skim the local newspaper's website.

We have a local free weekly newspaper that I read every week, and my mom got me a subscription to my home town's newspaper (very small town), and I love reading that once a week.

@caffeinated: Well their coverage of tech was pretty bad in general, at least when I was a subscriber. I think their coverage of macroeconomic issues is really strong in general though. I just wish they used bylines, so I could learn who to trust and who to ignore.

@mrbee: hmm, that's interesting. I like the Economist because of its unbiased coverage (or as unbiased as you can get with news). Was it a few instances where the story was inaccurate, or did you see this as a trend in their reporting?

@caffeinated: I used to read the Economist religiously but as I got deeper into my career in media and technology, I began to see that a lot of their coverage was not accurate!

So then I started to think that maybe their other coverage was inaccurate too. So much of their content is about international issues that I don't otherwise read about that I decided to stop reading them just in case!
