I have a plastic file folder box for each girl in the basement, easy to access on the bottom of one of the shelves.

@HappyBaker: duh, I said “this is along those lines” and didn’t include a pic or link. This is what I meant to add.

@SweetiePie: Under the dresser / under the bed is a great idea! Our boxes are big cardboard and ugly so I think having nice ones that I don't mind being more out would definitely help.

@snowjewelz: Next step - make space on ANY closet floor, haha. We are doing a big purge now so hopefully I'll have some floor space soon, would definitely be much easier to throw stuff in there that way!

@HappyBaker: pretty much your system, minus the boxes even. So they pile up on the counter or fridge until I throw them up on a shelf in the closet. It's not a good system!

I also just have lidded bins in one of the kids closets. On the floor so easy to take out.

I got some really cute lidded boxes from TJ Maxx and I keep them under my long dresser in my room. They actually look cute/decorative and it takes no time to slide them out and add an item.
However they are getting full so I need more or a couple bigger ones! I’ll look for an example of what I mean.

ETA: I can’t find exactly what I have, I’ll try to take a pic later. But this is also along those lines - a nice looking storage box that you wouldn’t mind being visible.
Also, I’ve used the big sterilite containers under the bed in the past.

We have a cardboard box for each kid and ourselves where we store things we want to save for the future - like art projects / hospital bracelets / etc. My issue is they are in the top of a closet and are hard to get down, so we end up with a HUGE amount of these things that we want to save that just pile up all over the place until I eventually hit a breaking point and pull all the boxes down.

Wondering where you store this type of stuff / how often you add to it / how you've made it easier!
