Agree that a basic PNP will be best if you won't use it much. Otherwise, I loooove our Bjorn crib, but it's pricey.

We ended up getting a PNP but when we went on vaca we ended up having him sleep with us because we had a king size bed. But he won't sleep with us anymore so when we travel we'll do the PNP again.

We are big fans of the pnp just because it gets used a lot for other reasons, like we have a bunch of toys in it now that DS is a toddler and he will sit in play in it while I shower. It's easy to pack for road trips. If I had to travel by air a lot, I would have gotten a go crib or something like that but mostly when we travel by air we stay in a hotel and use their crib.

depends how much you travel. if you do a lot, it's worth it to invest in a nicer travel crib like baby bjorn, gocrib, breeze.

otherwise, a pack and play will run you around $60 and you can't beat the price if you don't travel often.

We bought the Phil & Ted's travel crib second-hand. It's not super easy to set up but it's very portable. I would have loved to get the Baby Bjorn or the Go Crib but they're expensive!

My initial answer when I first saw the thread was 'the bathroom!' When we travel my LO either gets his own room or he goes in the bathroom. :)

I have the Baby Bjorn travel crib and it is really convenient! It weighs only 11lbs and is a breeze to set up and pack up!

But I'm not sure if you can buy it last minute...I had to buy mine online.

How old is your LO?

We use a PnP. My parents keep one at their house, they found a good deal at a consignment shop, but I second @MsMini about CL or something. You could even just resell afterwards if you can't see yourselves using it much.

Last trip we forgot to pack the PnP so our one night in a hotel on the way to my parents we unfortunately had to co-bed, they were out of cribs.

I would check to see if there is an infant supply rental company available where your friend is (most major cities seem to have them), or cruise craigslist to find a used pnp. If you co-bed on a semi-regular basis it would be fine to co-bed with LO, but if co-bedding isn't something you usually do I think it would be hard on everyone! I have heard of some other solutions, but nothing I would be comfortable doing myself or recommending.

We are visiting friend about 3 hours away for NYE. They don't have a PNP and neither do we. I will ask around and see if I can borrow one from a friend. But...if I end up having to buy something, what would one recommend?
