Our dog hangs out on our bed until it's time to go to sleep. Then we put her in a crate. Every so often we let her sleep on the bed, but she tends to drive us crazy - she scratches, flaps her ears loudly, and snuggles with our legs, trapping us.

I don't see our routine changing any when we have a baby. She's pretty chill at night, and doesn't seem to get bothered when we get up at night.

One of our dogs slept on our bed before i was pregnant, when I got pregnant though it drove me nuts. So now they usually sleep in dog beds in the guest room or our room.

Our dog starts out each night sleeping in our bed. He also sleeps on our bed during the day. This hasn't changed since the boys arrived. We don't co-sleep, though.

Our dog and cat sleep in our bed. They both sleep at the foot. They don't even bat an eye to lo. I knew they wouldn't though, they are both very chill critters.

Mine sleeps on his bed in a corner of our room. He's slept there at night forever. I used to nurse Little M in our bed at night since he was a winter baby and it was chilly, I don't think I'd be comfortable having the dog in bed too.

@septemberlove: he wasn't always like that. At our old.house he slept in our room upstairs. But when we moved I think the new space weirded him out. We tried creating a familiar environment, put his doggy bed in our room for him, etc. But we just let him go where hes comfy.

Our dog sleeps on the couch in the living room, his choice. I think he likes to be close to the front door to guard it on the middle of the night.

Random nights he will sleep on the floor in our room.... and its fine with us. If I wake up in the middle of the night he sleeps through it. If lo would cry it might bother him, but he'd be more likely to sleep through it, and if not he'd just get up and move to the couch.

My basset sleeps in our bed by my toes. Sometimes he curls himself around DH's knees. He's a snuggler!

The other dog sleeps under the bed or next to DH's face.

I don't see any reason to kick the basset out of bed since he's pretty chill, but the other dog may be moved to her crate since she gets very growly and snappy when I get up at night and she barks at me when I come back into the room. I don't want her to wake LO and I'd like to prevent some of the growling and snapping. The basset rarely bats an eyelid when I come and go (except when I was sick, then he was glued to my side).

Where do your dogs sleep? Will this change when LO arrives (or did it?) What factored into your decision? We've also talked about putting a gate at the end of the hallway and denying both dogs access to any of the bedrooms, I just don't know what route to go.
