@mediagirl: I think they would aggravate each other if they were side by side. My siblings and I fought a lot in the car. I just don't know if there would be enough leg room for the driver with a rear facing convertible seat behind the drivers side. We need to play around with the seats and see. Maybe they'll fit just fine and it will be no big deal.

Right now DS is in the middle, belt installed, DD is behind the passenger (both FF). Latch installed. When new baby comes it will go in the middle with DS and DD on either side. I think my kids might be a bit sad to be apart because they love sitting together. The seats will fit best with the bucket in the middle though.

Our 2yo is rear-facing on the passenger side.

Supposing we succeed at having a #2, #2 will be in the middle in the baby bucket with seatbelt install, #1 will stay on the passenger side.

Once #2 outgrows the bucket, we'll need to move #1 front-facing behind the driver; the bucket will fit in the middle without affecting the driver's seat, but, rear-facing convertible won't.

RF behind passenger side. The new baby is going behind the driver side. Once the new baby is 7 months or so and switches to a convertible seat we'll probably have to decide to forward face DD1 or get a bigger car! I don't really want them sitting next to each other.

@Littlebit7: yeah, that bugged me about my 2008 Mazda when I got it - no middle LATCH, same with our 2007 Camry. But then we bought this 2005 Tundra and it has LATCH on the drivers side and in the middle, but not on the passenger side.

2.5 year old RF behind passenger. Latch install

Just a friendly PSA reminder: most cars and car seats don't allow latch borrowing. Most cars have driver and passenger side latch sets and No
middle seat set. You typically can't install wth latch in the middle unless you have a dedicated set of latches for the middle seat. Of course there are cars and seats that are exceptions and they do have three sets in a three seat row or allow borrowing . But just keep it in mind!

I drive a mazda5, buckets seats in second row hold the car seats. Younger is behind me. Third row is tiny but I recently put a rf seat there for their cousin. However if we actually had a third I think I would put my oldest in the 3rd row with a seatbelt booster because she'd be 6 (still harnessed now).
