Heh, I used to not shower sometimes in the early days. But I'll bring lo into the bathroom sitting in her bouncer and shower really quickly.

I sit her in her chair with her toys in the bathroom and shower with the curtain opened a bit. I pop out every now and then to show her I'm still there and she loves it because it turns into a little game. The other day I peered out with my head all soapy and she loved it!

When LO was a newborn, i would shower before DH would leave for work, no excuses. I remember so many times trying to shower while she napped...it never failed, she would start crying 5 minutes into the shower. Now that LO is older, i can shower during her naps.

When LO was a little baby I would put him in the infant to toddler rocker on the bathroom floor. I would do it after a wake-up feeding so he could hold on long enough for a quick shower. Once we was sitting he was on the bathmat with toys, and now that he's a crazy toddler I either wait until he goes to bed or I let him come in with me (he loves a bonus shower)! Needless to say, I made it a priority to always be clean even when I was very sleep deprived. I just feel more like myself that way.

When he was really little I showered while he napped or brought him into the bathroom with me in his little bouncer seat thing.

Now I'll shower when he's playing in his crib, playing on the floor outside the shower or if I've run to pick him up from daycare in the jogger I'll take a shower with him in the tub taking his bath at the same time! He sits in a gardening bucket in the tub for his baths (saves water) so he just sits in that on one end of the tub and I shower on the other.

This summer when we were using an outdoor shower and before he could sit up on his own I put him in the bumbo in the shower next to me after washing him (big enough shower that he didn't continue to get wet and warm enough that it didn't matter that he was still wet.)

I've wondered the same thing, thanks for posting!

My LO is 11 weeks and I shower once my SO gets home from work. I haven't tried to shower when he's not around because when she cries she gets very upset if you don't pay attention to her. I don't like to see her upset so I can't just let her cry. She hates the bouncer and our swing is downstairs so I'm not sure what would work for us other than waiting for daddy to get home and give me a little break. Her naps are a little unpredictable, sometimes she'll sleep for an hour or two, other times she wakes up within 10 minutes. Hopefully once she's older, I can entertain her with toys.

I've always preferred showering at night anyway so I just wait for DH to get home. If I'm feeling especially gross during the day I put him in his bouncer in the bathroom and make sure he can see me. Or sometimes if I need to shower in the morning and he's awake and happy I'll just leave him in the bassinet (with DH usually still asleep a few feet away).

My little guy is 11 months and he comes in with me. He plays in the shower and loves the water falling on his head. It was pouring down rain the other day and he eagerly crawled out in the downpour. I thought he was crazy, but than I realized that's probably a lot how sitting with the shower water falling on his head feel like.

I shower and do my hair and make up every day, no excuses and I have a self imposed deadline of noon to make it happen. My preference is to do it right after a feeding when she's either sleeping or awake but content. If she starts fussing though I just move a little faster. I'm okay with her crying while I'm showering because I know she's safe, fed, and dry.

Like pps, I put her in her rock n play or bouncer and set her in the doorway. I can see her from there and I leave the shower curtain half open. If she starts to fuss I just talk to her but for the most part she's a happy camper and let's me get ready without a problem.

Ever since his stump fell off he's been showering with me. When he was immobile I would lay him on a towel and cover him with a washcloth. Then when he could we put him in the bumbo and then a shower seat. Now he plays around in the shower while we do what we need to. It allowed me to shower every day and it was a nice quiet time for us.

In fact, after his first shots, he was inconsolable and I put him in theshower and used the shower on his shot place and he calmed right down.

We have one of those extendable shower heads. So that helps.

I put him in the bouncer chair or playing on my bedroom floor and I quickly shower, or I shower right when I put him down (there really isn't much you can do if he cries for a few minutes, he'll be okay!!).

I often take him into the shower with me once I wash my hair/body/shave.

Our LO isn't here yet but my husband and I already have a system: he doesn't go to work until 10am so he has morning duty while I go tanning and then catch a quick shower. I can be pretty fast about things when I need to be. I imagine with a bouncer or swing (which we have) that I'll be able to do my makeup (if I want) later in the day.
The way I see it is: of you know you've fed him and changed him then even if he fusses: you can wait it out a bit because you'll know he is OK---just kind of lonely.

I have to shower every day or else I just feel gross. Luckily DS and I got into a routine. I would put his swing in the bathroom doorway and take a quick shower while singing to him. He stayed entertained and I could freshen up. When he decided he didn't like his swing I would just put a few plush towels on the floor, lay a blanket over them and plop him down with some toys.

Since about 3-4 weeks old, I've showered while my LO is awake. I would either put him in his bouncy chair or lay him on the bed with toys as he didn't roll (he still doesn't really). Now he goes in a giant inflatable play tube in front of my mirror with a bunch of toys. When he becomes mobile I will have to think of another option!
