Many times, tags say "x" months, but after you wash it once, you'll notice it shrinks a little, and oftentimes babies can wear them a few months earlier than the tags say. My LOs usually are ready for sizes 3 months ahead of when the tags are labelled. And my LOs aren't on the heavy side at all... They were average - under-average in weight during their first years.</p> <p>I say consider keeping some of the other clothes too. We get a ton of clothes as gifts also... a lot actually that aren't my style and/or extra since I shop a lot too... but I do use some of the less cute clothes as playclothes so I don't worry too much about them getting dirty, stained, etc...And I save the cuter clothes for weekends, picture taking, etc... But I totally understand about returning things... I do it a lot! If they are without tags, I can't imagine a store would take them back. Actually, I take that back. I removed some tags from Gap items and they can use the info on the tags inside the clothing to come up with the return price. But for Carters, I can't imagine Kohls would take it back unless it has a Kohls tag on it.</p> <p>I'd keep the long sleeved onesies, especially if they are white. DH's family got me a bunch of clothes even though we are team green. The clothes are cute BUT they are "boyish/gender neutral" things in sizes 3 and 6 months. I'm anal and by the time LO is in 3 month clothing he/she will be in all gender specific stuff. I already have all I need to survive the first few weeks clothing wise and then plan on going shopping online and in store to get gender specific stuff. DH's family already knows this. The items did not come with a reciept or gift receipt but they are Carters brand. What store should I return them to? Will the store know if the stuff didn't actually come from that store? I don't expect money back just in store credit. Blah I wish they would have stuck to our registry. We also got some long sleeve onsies in size 9 months but by the time LO is fitting into 9 month stuff it will be end of spring or beginning of summer. </p>
