Based on this thread I bought a pair of black seraphine pants (gap ones unfortunately don't work for me). While they aren't nearly as comfty as maternity work dresses, I'm really happy with how they look - like fashionable normal pants - and they should be a great staple.

Gap pants have been the only ones that work for me. I like that they come in actual sizes and not just S, M, L etc.

I just got a pair of seraphine work pants and I'm really happy with the quality! They look like nice pants I would wear normally and not some hideous bunchy maternity pants. Stitch fix maternity was a complete joke and failure for me, I asked for work wear and gave some guidelines and they sent me three ruched tshirts, an absolutely awful baggy pair of mom capris, and a dress in a color I specifically said I hated. Would not waste your time there.

My best work maternity clothing came from Seraphine (pricey but watch for the sales - also, I felt like it was worth it to invest in a few simple pieces that I could wear over and over again) and Jojo Maman Bebe.

Gap was my go to for pants, the ones @LBEE linked to were my staple. Loft is great for tops.

I will also say that stitchfix maternity was fabulous. Definitely more expensive but unique items that could stretch your wardrobe between work and play. Highly recommend stitchfix for maternity!

Macy's carries Motherhood Maternity and Pea in the Pod clothes, so you probably were seeing some of the same things in both places. I personally liked Motherhood and Pea in the Pod, but I mostly bought online, because the in-store selection is dismal. Where did you buy the jeans you like? I would try there. In general, I really liked dresses for work while pregnant.

Zulily has a bunch of cute stuff right now if you're willing to buy online. Target also has a brand new maternity line (that I can't remember the name of....) that had cute stuff as I walked by the other day. I think they have discontinued Liz Lange, so there are some good sales on that line if you like any of her stuff...I have a black trench coat from ASOS that I LOVE from my last pregnancy. I haven't browsed their selection in ages, though.

All maternity black pants are awful. I got away with wearing leggings with a long cardigan or tunic and boots most days, but there are only 3 females including myself in my entire office, so I don't think anyone really cared or noticed. Seraphine has some nice items. I didn't try their pants but got a wrap dress which was nice and worked well for the office when I needed to see clients. I also bought a few things off of gilt and they were good quality and fit well, but the delivery time is usually long for maternity items.

I don't have to wear "work clothes" to work, but what about the old navy pixie pants? I think they come in maternity and I have seen a lot of bees who like those.

My favorite professional dresses were the "bodycon" I bought from https://www.isabellaoliver.com/us. I could get away with just needing a couple professional outfits since I don't see the same people every day or months on end. A pair of Ponte slacks from A Pea in the Pod served me well. I paired it with Motherhood plain tops and a maternity cardigan for more a business casual look.

@SweetiePie: I looked at Loft but they seem to be low on inventory because they only had limited sizing in their apparel. I'll check back but I was definitely disappointed.

@yoursilverlining: i usually prefer dresses for work but i was really hoping to extend my maternity wardrobe with 1 pair of black pants and switching up a ton of different tops.

Following. I also need a few things that look professional (for a male dominated industry) and so much maternity is casual or covered in floral prints. We have a local Pea in the Pod store which I'll probably go to soon. I think I may just skip looking for pants (ugh) and hope I don't freeze in dresses. I'm hoping dresses in neutral colors with cardigans will work well in a small professional capsule.

Loft! I've had good luck with them.
Gap might also have a black skinny ankle pant.

I used to get mine at JCrew but they discontinued their maternity line 😢 I know madewell is starting a maternity line but not sure if they'll have work pants. Might have a really nice black Jean though that you could possibly get away with.

Yes to how horrible those black maternity pants are. For the love of God, pull it together designers.

I don't have any good leads on pants because I mostly just wore dresses while pregnant (and not pregnant). A Pea in the Pod had fabulous professional dresses when I was pregnant. They were higher quality and more professional than the options I found at Motherhood.

Ladies where do you buy good maternity work clothes?

With my last pregnancy, I was in a super casual office so I wore jeans and legging everyday. This time around I'm in a business professional setting so i need to stock up on work clothes.

Went to Pea in the Pod, Motherhood, and Macy's yesterday. They all had the same pair of black slacks which fit like a 3rd grader's sewing project. They had a million pleats on the butt (pretty sure it's my stomach that's growing, not my butt) and ran like 3 sizes too big in the legs.

I would be so appreciative of any and all suggesting on where to buy some good maternity work clothes. Thanks ladies!
