@mediagirl: Ahh so jealous! I really like Totto over some of the other popular ones. And that location shouldn't be too crowded. Enjoy!! I hope this cooler weather is making your stay in the city more pleasant!

I'd go up around Columbus Circle and eat at a restaurant with a view of Central Park... It's stunning anytime of the day, but go at the golden hour and watch the sun set and the city lights come alive :) Robert in the MAD museum would be good... Asiate in the Mandarin Oriental too... landmarc also is great. For a quick bite/desserts/coffee, check out Bouchon Bakery.

Blue Ribbon Sushi on 58th and 8th (across from TWC) or Robert in the Museum of Art and Design (super cool space). The ramen places are all amazing, but usually very long lines.

@hotchildinthecity: I know very little about the city (have only been there for work recently and play a long time ago). I do appreciate ALL the help I can get....beyond Yelp. :)

@anandam: I love Kashkaval!

What about Taboon (52nd/10th)? Landmarc is in the time warner center right near you. Also in Lincoln Center (only a few blocks away, but a bit more touristy), there's the Smith, Atlantic Grill, PJ Clarkes and Rosa Mexicano. Trying to think what else is over there...9th Ave has a lot of inexpensive, good places to grab a bite, depending what you're looking for.

There's a yummy/healthy mediterranean place right there, Kashkaval. I've usually gone with a group and shared a number of small plates, but they also have kebabs & sandwiches. I think it's 9th Ave and 56th? Definitely loads more options down in Hell's Kitchen, too.

My first thought would be Yakitori Totto. It is Japanese street food.

There are lots of places around Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center. It is an easy walk up Broadway. I really like Bar Boulud. It is French charcuterie.

For something super casual, Burger Joint in the Le Parker Meridian hotel is really good.

The options are endless. You just want a suggestion for one meal? :-)

Are you willing to travel a little bit up to the UWS or down to Hell's Kitchen? Otherwise that's kind of a dead area unless i'm forgetting something. It's like the Columbus Circle mall, the tourist crush on the edge of Central Park, etc.

My first trip is going to be a fast and furious one. I'll want a good meal the first night, though. I'm working near W 57th and 10th Ave. Any suggestions for a delicious meal nearby? Preferably something I can keep under $50 for 1 person. I love all foods.
