The first time I didn't know what to expect and was nervous because of it. The second time I knew what to expect but other factors like a fast first labor and childcare for LO1 played into it. With a potential third I'd be scared of a combination of events happening with LO1 + LO2. If it all goes as fast as it did with LO1 and then transition being only 10 Minutes with LO2 (I was a 4 30 Minutes before baby was born and it didn't get painful for another 10 minutes or so...) am really worried of whether we'd be able to make it to the hospital in time. With #2, I went in not the slightest bit nervous as everything had been easy peasy with DD1 - perfect epidural, great progression, an hour of pushing, DD born easily etc. So I just assumed it would all be the same again the second time.....not so much. It was a real fight to get the epi and it didn't work as well as the first time. I remember being so over it all, even though it was a much shorter labour, as the pain never went away entirely and I was just done. Come to think of it, I should have voted I'm most nervous for baby #3 as I now know not everything always goes as brilliantly as it did with #1! We have a plan for her care in place, but there is no way to predict when my labor will start and how fast it will go, so I'm just nervous it'll go super fast at like 2 am and our care person won't make it in time! I thought the second would be so much better, and in a lot of ways (live baby in particular!) it was. But it still was really shitty, so now I'm terrified of another birth. To the point I'd consider a scheduled c-section, and I was 100% med-free before. I have a feeling I'll need some counseling if we decide to have another. Everything turned out fine and labor was a breeze compared to my first. My first birth wasn't even very bad but my second was really healing for me. Even when I think about it now I'm SO proud of myself. I felt like I managed my labour really well. It was a risky pregnancy because I got pregnant three months after having my second via c-section. Add into it a very very large baby and I was terrified that one or both of us wouldn't make it through the surgery. The week leading up to my surgery I did kick counts constantly. Pretty nervous about what happens if I go into labor while home alone with my 2 lo's. I had a rather short labor and great vaginal delivery. This time around I'm very nervous, but it's due to the fact that I have a complete placenta previa, could bleed again at any moment, am considered high risk for pre-term labor, and will have a scheduled c-section no later than 37 weeks. Did I mention that it is dangerous for me to go into labor naturally? I was right to be nervous on that one- had the baby 45 minutes after walking into the hospital!
